Next Friday the 15th of June is officially Beer Day Britain and at Sunbridgewells we can’t wait to celebrate and pay homage to the nation's favourite alcoholic drink or as we like to call it, real ale.
Backed by major industry organisations including the British Beer and Pub Association and Britain’s Beer Alliance, Beer Day Britain also falls on the same day the Magna Carta was sealed in 1215. You know how we love a bit of history at Bradford’s Victorian tunnels. With article 35 also stating, ‘’Let there be throughout our kingdom a single measure for wine and a single measure for ale and a single measure for corn,’’ here’s how you can enjoy a pint of real ale at Wallers Brewery on Beer Day Britain.
Choose your weapon
Firstly, have some samples on us. We have quite a few real ales to choose from at Sunbridgewells and the last thing we want is for you to not enjoy the one you’ve picked. At Wallers Brewery, we happily encourage our customers to try at least 2 to 4 of our beers before ordering their chosen pint. If you also have any questions about our real ales just ask. Our bar staff love talking about beer.
Pint of smooth, please
If you’re new to the world of real ale then this is when you will realise that your chosen hops won’t be served in an ice cold glass. The reason for this is that cold glasses create foaming due to a sheet of ice forming when the beer is poured into the pint glass. We don’t want foaming beer now, do we?
By 'eck it's gorgeous
Well then, now you have the real deal in your hand. The crowning glory that is a glass of hoppy, beery goodness. It’s exciting times from here on, so sit back, relax and allow yourself to be taken to the dizzying heights of your chosen Wallers real ale. Don’t be tempted to down the beer to get drunk, however, as this would be highly frowned upon by other ale sommeliers. Be patient, take in the flavours and give yourself a pat on the back as you have just enjoyed a pint of real ale at Wallers Brewery, like a pro.
So, will you be saying ‘Cheers to Beer’ on Friday the 15th of June? Don’t worry, we’re not asking you to drink your beer at work. Simply join us at Wallers Brewery next Friday evening and take part in the social media trend by posting a photo with the hashtags #CheersToBeer and #Sunbridgewells. At £2.50 a pint and with a huge range of ales from the likes of Salamander Brewery, Saltaire Brewery and Bosons Brewery, we invite you to raise a glass to Beer Day Britain, in Wallers Brewery, Sunbridgewells.
